Dennis Hayes
Dennis is the founder & head instructor of HYBRID (Est. Sept. '01). He is a paramedic/firefighter for the city of Roanoke by profession. Dennis is the lead instructor in the Gracie Jiu Jitsu program @ HYBRID. He received all his belts in Gracie Jiu Jitsu under Master Pedro Sauer & is 1 of less than 50 blackbelts that has been awarded by Pedro Sauer worldwide. He is also a 2nd Degree Blackbelt in JUDO under professor Gus Carper, initially receiving his blackbelt in '99. He has 14+ years in the grappling arts & is the ONLY Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blackbelt in the Roanoke valley & the only certified Gracie/Brazilian jiu jitsu instructor in the valley. As well, he is a certified judo, jiu jitsu & submission wrestling referree.

GUS CARPER
Gus is the lead of the Judo program. He is a veritable legend in the Roanoke Valley at 73 years of age because Gus has been involved in judo for over 50 years, & has literally taught thousands at the Roanoke YMCA in his long tenure there. Gus is a 7th degree blackbelt in Judo and a 5th degree blackbelt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Gus is in the International blackbelt hall-of-fame, plus he is a master examiner for the USJA.
DAVE DAMICO
Dave is the primary instructor at HYBRID in the Judo program. Dave has been involved in Judo for 14+ years & is currently a 2nd degree blackbelt in Judo. Dave received his blackbelt from Gus in 1999 after first starting with Gus at the YMCA. Also, Dave is a bluebelt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Master Pedro Sauer.

TAREK MONEIR
Tarek is the newest addition to the HYBRID gym. He is a 6th degree blackbelt in Judo, and also a blackbelt in Japanese jujutsu & Sambo. Tarek competed in the Olympics for the Egyptian Judo Team. Tarek was also a Coach for the U.S. Grappling team that went to Turkey in '07. Don't miss out on the opportunity to learn from an international coach & competitor.
TIM RUMFELT
Tim is the head instructor of the Muay Thai program. Tim is a Level 2 Muay Thai instructor under the thai boxing association of America.
Tim has been involved in martial arts for 20 years. In that time he has also obtained his blackbelt in American Freestyle martial arts from Clay Johnson & Eddie Thomas, plus Tim is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Pedro Sauer. Tim has an extensive knowledge of the striking arts & this includes training at the Linxx Academy in Va Beach with Frank Cucci & Dan Inosanto.
